Warming winter soup

This is that time of year again when most people suffer from seasonal flu, cold and cough. Soups are condiered ideal choice of food when someone is sick. Ayurveda recommends any warm and easy digestible food during illness. In this blog I am sharing a recipe for warming soup which can come quite handy when you are battling against seasonal allergies.

Warming winter soup

Ingredients

1 cup of cut butter nut squash cubes ( 1 cup = 250 ml/ 250 gms )

1 cup of cut Carrot cubes

7 leaves of cilantro

5 leaves of parsley

Small piece of ginger cube

1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder

3 drops of honey

Pinch of nutmeg powder

Boil all ingredients in 3 cups of water. Once all the ingredients are cooked. Leave it aside for couple of minutes. Once it comes to room temperature blend it all with blender. To top it up pinch of nut meg powder and 3 drops of honey.

This soup is good for someone who is suffering from cough, cold and other seasonal allergies. Warm soups are easy to digest and are good appetisers.
